Dr. Leah K. Spring is a board-certified Dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgeon. She graduated magna cum laude from Albion College and received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, she was accepted into the flight surgery training program at the U.S. Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute and served two tours as a United States Navy Flight Surgeon, during which time she participated in both operational and medical relief missions throughout the Pacific. Dr. Spring completed her dermatology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where she served as Chief Resident and received the Hollander Award for excellence in patient care and teaching. Following her residency, Dr Spring completed a dual-fellowship in both Mohs Micrographic Surgery and laser and cosmetic surgery at the world-renowned SkinCare Physicians in Boston, Massachusetts, where she trained with the nation’s leaders and pioneers in the field of laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Spring has served as the principle or sub-investigator for six clinical trials, has published over 10 textbook chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, and has served as the Chair of both the Cancer Committee and Project C.A.R.E (Comprehensive Advanced Restorative Effort). She has lectured nationally on the topics of advanced neuromodulators (Botox), treatment of acne scarring, and energy-based devices for body contouring.
Dr. Spring is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
